A Christmas card picture in Augosto!

We thought we’d use this pic for a Christmas card; you’re getting it early!  Augosto is a big month in Italy; many people take some of the month off for vacations, but many people will be staying home because of the economy. The Italians will celebrate Ferragosto on August 15. It is the Assumption of Mary. There will be celebrations and parades in most towns/cities. In Gricignano where we live, there will be a BIG celebration from Aug. 26-29 and they will also pay tribute to the patron saint of our town St. Andrea (Andrew). Below are random pictures from our adventures.
